The following security camera footage was captured on May 17 at approximately 10 am at a lottery ticket agency in District 12, Ho Chi Minh City. According to the clip, a man riding a motorcycle arrived to redeem a winning lottery ticket. He handed over two lottery tickets from the May 16 draw to Ms. V.T.B.N., the agency owner, with numbers matching the fourth prize, each worth VND 3 million.

At that time, Ms. N. used a ticket checker to scan the tickets and also inspected them with her naked eye and by scratching them, but she did not notice anything amiss. Not suspecting any foul play, she agreed to redeem the tickets without scanning the QR code for additional verification.

For each winning ticket, Ms. N. charged a redemption fee of VND 60,000. The man then purchased eight more lottery tickets for VND 80,000. Ms. N. handed over the remaining VND 5.8 million in winnings to the man. It was only when the tickets were taken to a level-1 agency for redemption that Ms. N. realized she had been scammed.

The security camera footage from the District 12 lottery ticket agency revealed that the man who redeemed the fake lottery tickets bore a striking resemblance to the individual who had previously scammed Mr. Le Khac Trinh in Thu Duc City.

Previously, on May 26, Mr. Le Khac Trinh reported to the authorities that he had been scammed by a man who redeemed two fake lottery tickets worth the fourth prize. Mr. Trinh stated that on the afternoon of May 18, a man riding a motorcycle arrived at his agency on Do Xuan Hop Street, Binh Trung Dong Ward, Thu Duc City, to redeem a winning lottery ticket. The man presented two tickets that matched the fourth prize. Mr. Trinh examined the tickets with a light, found nothing suspicious, and agreed to redeem them.
