An investigation has revealed that in 2015, the People’s Committee of Luc Nam District issued a decision to revoke land to implement the project of constructing a building materials factory and its access road for Duc Trung Company in Dam Dinh and Dao Lang villages, Bac Lung commune, Luc Nam District. They also decided to approve the compensation and support plan for the state’s land revocation for this project.
On April 20, 2015, at the People’s Committee of Bac Lung Commune, Mr. Pham Trong D, who was then holding the position of Chairman of the People’s Committee, instructed the accountant and treasurer of the People’s Committee of Bac Lung Commune to falsely issue a receipt for compensation money for the project implementation of Duc Trung Limited Company. This was submitted by the company’s representative, causing damage of over VND 1 billion to the People’s Committee of Bac Lung Commune.
The police are proceeding with the accused.
Based on the investigation results, the Investigation Police Agency of Bac Giang Provincial Police has issued decisions to prosecute the accused, arrest and detain him, and search his residence. Mr. Pham Trong D, former Chairman of Bac Lung Commune People’s Committee, has been charged with “Abusing position and power while performing official duties.”
