On May 29, in Hanoi, the Central Inspection Commission held its 56th session under the chairmanship of Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Politbüro member, Central Committee member, and Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission.
At the 56th session, after considering the report proposing disciplinary measures for violating party members in local and unit party committees, including the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET), Vietnam Rubber Group, Dong Nai province, and Hau Giang province, the Central Inspection Commission decided to discipline Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice Minister of Education and Training, with a warning.
At the same time, the Central Inspection Commission requested the competent authorities to consider and discipline Mr. Tran Ngoc Thuan, Mr. Vo Van Chanh, and Mr. Nguyen Van Tien.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Thuan, former member of the Party Committee of the Central Enterprises Bloc, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Chairman of the Board of Members of Vietnam Rubber Group; Mr. Vo Van Chanh, former member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province; Mr. Nguyen Van Tien, former Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the People’s Council of Hau Giang province, showed signs of political, ideological, and moral degeneration. They violated Party regulations and State laws in performing their assigned tasks and responsibilities, in preventing and combating corruption and negativity, and in setting an example. Their actions caused very serious consequences and severely affected the reputation of the Party organizations, local authorities, and the agencies and units where they worked, and therefore, they must be disciplined.

Previously, on July 17, 2024, in relation to the case of “Violation of regulations on the management and use of state assets, causing waste and loss; Bribery; and Abuse of position and power while performing official duties,” which occurred at VRG, the Investigation Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security prosecuted Mr. Tran Ngoc Thuan for “Taking bribes.”
Vo Sy Luc, former Chairman of the Members’ Council of VRG, and Tran Thoai, Member of the Members’ Council and Vice General Director of VRG, were prosecuted for “Violation of regulations on the management and use of state assets, causing waste and loss.”
In relation to this case, on May 23, 2024, the Investigation Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security prosecuted and detained eight other defendants on the same charges, including: Le Quang Thung, former General Director and Acting Chairman of the VRG Board of Members; Huynh Trung Truc, former VRG Deputy General Director; Pham Van Thanh, former Head of VRG Planning and Investment Board;
Nguyen Thi Gai, former General Director of Dong Nai Rubber Company; Nguyen Cong Tai, former Chairman of the Members’ Council of Ba Ria Rubber Company; Nguyen Trong Canh, former Deputy General Director of Ba Ria Rubber Company; Le Y Linh, former Director of Viet Tin Commercial General Company; and Dang Phuoc Dua, former Chairman of the Board of Directors of Viet Tin Commercial Joint Stock Company.
In addition, the Investigation Police Agency also prosecuted, banned from leaving their places of residence, and searched the residence of Nguyen Thanh Chau, former Chairman of the Members’ Council of Dong Nai Rubber Company, for “Violation of regulations on the management and use of state assets, causing waste and loss.”
