On May 30th, the head of the Husbandry and Veterinary Department of Soc Trang province stated that they had just decided to establish an inter-branch inspection team to deploy a peak month against smuggling, commercial fraud, counterfeiting, and ensuring food safety in the area.

The team consists of inspectors from the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Husbandry and Veterinary Department, and the Economic Security Police (Provincial Police). The subjects of inspection are individuals and organizations related to animal husbandry and veterinary activities.

In the afternoon of the same day, the team inspected C.P F.S store in My Xuyen town, My Xuyen district, Soc Trang province.

“During this campaign, the team will inspect the sales points of C.P Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company in the province,” said the leader of the Husbandry and Veterinary Department.

Previously, a Facebook account named L.Q.N. posted about a livestock joint-stock company (based in Soc Trang) supplying low-quality pork and chicken.

According to the post, the company mixed sick and rotten-smelling pork and chicken to sell at low prices for sausage and hot dog production. The post quickly attracted public attention, with many people expressing concerns about food hygiene and safety.

It is known that the above-mentioned livestock company has four business locations in Soc Trang.

Regarding this issue, the People’s Committee of Soc Trang province has directed the police to investigate.
