On May 28, information from the Quang Ninh Province Market Management Bureau revealed that authorities had seized 25 tons of frozen squid, along with 460 kg of beef tripe and chicken feet, which were emitting a foul odor and being stored in a cold storage warehouse in Mong Cai City.

Goods hidden in cold storage warehouses

Specifically, on the morning of May 27, Team 4 of the Market Management Bureau, in collaboration with the Economic Police of the Quang Ninh Provincial Police, and the Customs Control Team of the Quang Ninh Customs Branch, inspected the cold storage facility belonging to Mr. D.X.S., located in Thon 5, Quang Nghia, Mong Cai City.

During the inspection, the authorities discovered 25,000 kg of frozen squid tubes, 300 kg of beef tripe, and 160 kg of chicken feet.

The entire batch of goods was packed in cartons and plastic crates, emitting a strong odor, and lacked any information regarding their origin and provenance.

Mr. D.X.S. admitted that the goods were purchased from unknown sources in the market for business purposes and lacked invoices, documents, or any other proof of their origin.

Team 4 of the Market Management Bureau has temporarily seized the aforementioned goods and is in the process of completing the necessary paperwork for further handling.

Previously, on May 26, Team 1 of the Market Management Bureau confiscated nearly eight tons of frozen chicken feet of unknown origin in Mong Cai City, and on May 15, Team 1 seized over two tons of food products without clear provenance in Cam Pha City.
