As Xiaomi smartphones reclaim the second spot in market share in Vietnam, the Chinese tech giant continues its impressive streak with the inauguration of a modern 1,000 sq. m office in the heart of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. This new space reflects Xiaomi’s growing ambitions in a market considered a top priority in Southeast Asia.

Starting its official presence in Vietnam in 2017 with a modest 100 sq. m office, Xiaomi has steadily expanded its scale and influence. Fast forward seven years, and the company has increased its office space tenfold, alongside impressive business metrics.

According to the company representative, the opening of the new office signifies not just a larger workspace but also a commitment to their long-term strategy in Vietnam.

Xiaomi’s expansion in space is underpinned by solid business reasons. As per Canalys data for May 2025, Xiaomi claimed 19% of the smartphone market share in Vietnam in Q1, reclaiming the second spot in the market. Their Redmi Note 14 Series and Xiaomi 15 Ultra devices were warmly received, with sell-out launches within a few days.

Beyond smartphones, Xiaomi’s AIoT (AI + IoT) ecosystem is flourishing. In the past 12 months, they’ve sold over 150,000 TVs in Vietnam, entering the top 5 TV brands. Their robot vacuums, air purifiers, wearables, and other devices have witnessed growth rates exceeding 200% year-over-year, sustaining a steady 30% annual revenue growth in AIoT for the 2022–2025 period.

Xiaomi is evolving from a brand known for “affordable, high-spec products” to a technology leader offering a holistic smart experience, extending beyond smartphones.

The new office is designed to be a true “Xiaomi Home,” equipped with a range of their ecosystem products, including TVs, air purifiers, robot vacuums, smart lighting, and control systems. By using these products themselves, Xiaomi employees become real-life testers, providing feedback that aligns with the needs of Vietnamese consumers. The work environment is also optimized with an open reception area, flexible meeting rooms, a comfortable pantry, and a multi-purpose activity area.
