The authorities of Giao Thuy district, Nam Dinh province, recently organized a conference to evaluate the progress of land clearance for several projects in the district, including the investment project for construction and business of Hai Long Industrial Park (VSIP Nam Dinh) infrastructure, phase 1.
So far, based on the measurement results, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has audited a total area of 180 hectares of land to be revoked in Giao Chau and Giao Long communes (Giao Thuy district). This includes: paddy fields, aquaculture land, transportation, irrigation, etc. More than 1,300 households are affected.
To expedite the site clearance process, the District People’s Committee has directed the Department of Agriculture and Environment and the District Site Clearance Council to coordinate with the People’s Committees of Giao Chau and Giao Long communes to organize meetings and notify the implementation of the project.
Regarding compensation, Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park Joint Stock Company, as the direct investor, will proactively prepare the conditions to make the first payment before May 31, 2025, to households with revoked paddy fields. The project is expected to commence on August 21, 2025.

Earlier, in March 2025, the People’s Committee of Nam Dinh province issued a decision approving the investment policy and selecting Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park Joint Stock Company (VSIP) as the investor for Hai Long Industrial Park, phase 1.
Hai Long Industrial Park, phase 1, covers an area of 180 hectares (out of a total of 1,069 hectares) in Giao Thuy district, with a total expected investment of nearly VND 2,250 billion, including over VND 337 billion of capital contribution from the investor.
The project is expected to break ground in the third or early fourth quarter of 2025, and the entire infrastructure of the industrial park will be completed by the end of 2027.

According to the planning, the industrial park will have a total area of about 1,069 hectares, twice the size of Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi (529 hectares), and is located in four communes of Giao Thuy district.
In terms of location, the industrial park has the following boundaries: north to existing residential areas and National Highway 37B; south to the East Sea; east and west to agricultural land and residential areas…
The planning of this industrial park is divided into several phases, with phase 1 implementing 180 hectares, focusing on attracting pioneering investors, developing infrastructure, and creating a premise for subsequent phases.
It is forecasted that the labor demand of the entire Hai Long Industrial Park will be about 110,000 people. In phase 1, the expected labor demand is about 18,000 people.
According to the Planning for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister: Industry is oriented to become the driving force for economic growth in Nam Dinh. By 2030, the proportion of industry and construction in the province’s GRDP will account for more than 50%.
Thus, the formation of Hai Long Industrial Park will make an important contribution to the development of Nam Dinh province as directed by the approved planning.
