On May 27, the People’s Committee of Lien Chieu District, Da Nang City, announced the enforcement of land retrieval against 26 households who did not comply with the retrieval decision for the Lang Van Tourism and Urban Resort Complex project in Hoa Hiep Bac Ward (phase 2)
The enforcement was carried out based on the Land Law, Government decrees, and decisions issued by the District People’s Committee on April 19.

Previously, functional agencies, mass organizations, and local authorities had conducted multiple dialogues and explanations about the project. However, as of now, the 26 households have not handed over the land.
The enforcement took place until May 28, at each land lot subject to retrieval.
The Enforcement Committee requested the named households to be present at the enforcement site to witness the process. In case of absence or intentional absence, the enforcement would still proceed as per regulations.
For households who voluntarily handed over the land and signed the handover minutes before the enforcement decision was announced, if they wished to receive compensation, the District Land Clearance Committee would facilitate direct payments at the public reception area of the People’s Committee of Hoa Hiep Bac Ward.
The Lang Van Tourism and Urban Resort Complex project was approved by the Prime Minister for investment policy adjustment on November 20, 2024, with a total investment of nearly VND 44,000 billion.
The Da Nang City People’s Committee approved the land use boundary and adjusted the detailed planning at a scale of 1/500, reducing the study area from over 1,067 hectares to over 512 hectares.
The project is expected to have a population of about 19,000 people and include commercial and service facilities, eco-tourism development combined with low-density accommodation, and nature conservation. The construction area is located at the foot of Hai Van Pass, known for its pristine natural scenery.
This is the first project in Da Nang that requires mandatory enforcement of compulsory retrieval. The local authorities call for the cooperation of the people to ensure the project’s progress, contributing to the city’s socio-economic development.
