On May 30, the Investigation Police Agency of Dong Nai Province is temporarily holding three suspects: Mai Xuan Tuong (33 years old), Mai Van Duc (31 years old, Tuong’s younger brother, both residing in Ninh Binh Province), and Quang Tan Hung (32 years old, from Ho Chi Minh City) for investigation of production and trading of counterfeit goods.

Based on intelligence information, on May 26, the Economic Police Department of the Provincial Police detected and caught red-handed An Phuc Khang Import-Export Trading Service Co., Ltd., a branch in Ap Lo Duc, Ho Nai 3 Commune, Trang Bom District, with Tuong as its director.
At the time of the inspection, workers were transferring and packaging organic fertilizer products in compressed form (of Korean origin) into different packages featuring a red bat logo and labeled “Organic Fertilizer – 100% Organic Materials.”

The product had a Vietnamese label stating: Organic Fertilizer Organic Kimangi Nine; Product Name: Organic Kimagi Nine; Net Weight: 25kg/bag; Origin: Belgium; Imported and distributed by An Phuc Khang Company. These bags were stacked on black plastic pallets, ready for sale to customers in Ap Lo Duc, Ho Nai 3 Commune.
Additionally, the authorities discovered six other types of finished fertilizer products, manufactured using the same deceptive method, awaiting distribution in the market.

The exhibits included nearly 62 tons of finished fertilizer, 11,500 bags with blue and yellow Korean labels, totaling 230 tons of raw fertilizer material, 260,000 bag packages, 3 heat-sealing machines, 3 electronic scales, 1 forklift, 2 air compressors, and 1 conveyor belt, among others.
During the interview with the police, Tuong confessed to instructing Hung, the company accountant, to compile data on fertilizer to be counterfeited, and directing Duc to manage the process of transferring and packaging the fake fertilizer.
Raid on Saigon Square
Upon noticing the inspection team, vendors at Saigon Square Trading Center hastily shuttered their shops in an attempt to evade detection. However, thousands of counterfeit products bearing renowned global brands were seized on the spot by the authorities.
