Vietnamese authorities intercept a fishing vessel smuggling 75 cubic meters of diesel oil

According to the Customs Department (Ministry of Finance), during a patrol in the waters from Da Nang to Ninh Thuan, combined with operational information, at 10:30 on May 29, 2025, at the coordinates 11017’N, 109002’E in Ninh Thuan province, Team 2 of the Anti-Smuggling Investigation Bureau, in coordination with the Crime Prevention Department of the Regional Command The Coast Guard Region 3 discovered, inspected, and detained a fishing vessel with the identification number TH-91658-TS, owned by Mr. Le Van Dung, who was transporting approximately 75 cubic meters of suspected diesel oil stored in two cargo holds closest to the front cabin.

According to the captain’s statement, the aforementioned cargo was transported on the fishing vessel without any documents or invoices proving its legal origin. The estimated value of the smuggled goods is approximately 1.3 billion VND. The Customs Authority is currently handling the case in accordance with regulations.
