Recently, alleged industrial design images of a small two-seater electric car emerged on social media, capturing the community’s attention.

According to sources, TMT Motors has registered the industrial design of a two-seater electric car with the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam, with the registration number 4-2025-14004, dated April 4, 2025. Based on the leaked sketch images, the car features a two-door, one-trunk, and two-seat configuration.

A notable feature is the “TMT” logo positioned at the center of the car’s front and rear, sparking speculations that this model will be a completely technology-transferred production for assembly in Vietnam, bearing the TMT brand.

Previously, in late 2024, TMT Motors announced its plans to distribute the two-seater Baojun E100 but did not confirm a specific launch date. However, the newly revealed car model differs significantly from the E100, especially in the design of the front and rear light clusters.

Since its launch in 2017, the E100 has consistently received upgrades in terms of travel range and features, solidifying its pioneering position in the urban mini electric car segment in the Chinese market.

The E100 is recognized as the first electric car model of the Baojun brand under SAIC-GM-Wuling.

The car was officially launched in the market on July 21, 2017. An upgraded version with a travel range of up to 200km was introduced on June 12, 2018.

In 2019, the E100 added two new versions with a travel range of 250km. On August 3, 2020, the 2020 version of the E100 was officially released, with a selling price ranging from 49,800 to 54,800 Chinese yuan (approximately 179 to 197 million VND). The NEDC-rated range increased to 305km.

The E100’s dimensions are 2488/1506/1670mm in length, width, and height, respectively, with a wheelbase of 1600mm and a turning radius of just 3.7m. The car’s curb weight is 840kg.

After receiving subsidies from the manufacturer, the selling prices were 39,800 and 48,800 Chinese yuan (approximately 143 million to 176 million VND), respectively.

In late 2024, TMT Motor also announced an expected selling price of below 150 million VND (including the battery) for the Baojun E100 in the Vietnamese market.

According to the distributor’s prior information, the E100 version planned for sale in Vietnam will be equipped with a lithium-ion battery, offering an estimated range of 200 km. It can be fully charged in 5 hours using a domestic power source. The front-mounted motor delivers 39 horsepower and 110 Nm of torque, enabling a top speed of 100 km/h.

Currently, the most affordable car in the Vietnamese market is the Wuling mini EV (197 million VND – including the battery), which is also distributed by TMT Motors through domestic assembly.

If the new product maintains the expected price range, it will be the most affordable car in Vietnam, comparable in price to high-end scooter models such as the Honda SH 350i (152.7 million VND) or the Vespa GTV (159.8 million VND).

It is predicted that this newly registered mini car in Vietnam will embrace a microcar style, similar to the Baojun E100, along with technical specifications ideal for daily urban commuting.

However, as of now, TMT Motor has not released any official statement regarding this matter.
