It’s been almost a month since the event that young people fondly refer to as the “National Concert” took place, celebrating 50 years of national reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025) in Ho Chi Minh City. Yet, the euphoria of a nation in joyous celebration still lingers. Even more intriguing, a “financial mark” imbued with patriotism made a remarkable presence during the grand ceremony and will remain with its owners for a long time: the NCB Visa Thong Nhat card from the National Citizen Bank (NCB).

With national pride and a desire to “demonstrate patriotism and national pride through concrete actions in our profession to celebrate this grand event,” the NCB team swiftly developed and introduced a special edition credit card: the NCB Visa Thong Nhat, just before the “National Concert.” NCB also presented the first customers who signed up for the Thong Nhat card with a limited-edition T-shirt and a “Proud of a United Vietnam” thermos, spreading the spirit of national unity in every daily moment.

The Thong Nhat card made a strong impression in the market and instantly captured the hearts of users as the first and only financial card associated with the historical events of April 30 and May 1, imbued with the patriotic spirit of the Vietnamese people. Thousands of customers applied for the Thong Nhat card through NCB’s digital platforms and hotline. Images of the card were proudly shared on social media and news outlets. Notably, the administrator of the “O Dau Cung Chup” fan page creatively captured inspiring photos of the Thong Nhat card during the most beautiful moments of the historical days in Ho Chi Minh City, wishing to “contribute to conveying the meaningful message of the Thong Nhat card to the younger generation.”

It is known that the card, named Thong Nhat, adorned with the colors of the national flag, and featuring the solemn image of the historical moment, was conceived and delivered to the first customers in just two weeks—a mere fraction of the typical time it takes to launch a regular card product in the market. According to the bank, as of now, all NCB Visa Thong Nhat cards issued in the first phase have been registered by customers, with an activation rate of nearly 100%.

This “miracle” not only demonstrates the determination and unity of the Vietnamese people throughout history but also testifies to the innovative capabilities and excellent collaboration between Vietnamese enterprises and international partners in this new era of pioneering breakthroughs. NCB representatives shared that the NCB Visa Thong Nhat card is the first product launched by NCB in 2025 under the “Proud” line. This line is a labor of love and a testament to NCB’s passion for their beloved homeland, Vietnam.
