Recently, the Prime Minister signed Official Dispatch No. 79/CD-TTg dated May 31 on proactively implementing measures to ensure the production, processing, consumption, and export of agricultural produce.
Accordingly, the Prime Minister requested that the People’s Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities proactively and urgently coordinate with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Industry and Trade to provide information and advise people, cooperative groups, cooperatives, and enterprises on production planning based on market demand, ensuring compliance with the procedures, regulations, and standards of the import market from the stages of production, harvesting, preliminary processing, processing, packaging, transportation, and traceability to promote official exports.
The People’s Committees of provinces with border gates, especially the northern border provinces (Lang Son, Lao Cai, Quang Ninh, Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Dien Bien, and Lai Chau), are assigned to direct, monitor, update, evaluate, and forecast the situation of goods accumulation in their areas. They are also tasked with coordinating with relevant agencies to direct functional forces to implement solutions to ensure the smooth flow of goods at border gates and take timely measures to proactively regulate and manage the flow of vehicles to the border gates.
The Prime Minister also requested that agricultural produce processing and exporting enterprises closely monitor information about the flow and customs clearance of agricultural produce exports at border gates and promptly adjust their production, business, and export plans to flexibly adapt and minimize congestion at border gates. They are also encouraged to increase the purchase and storage of agricultural produce, especially during the peak harvest season, to support farmers with consumption.
