National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man delivers the opening speech at the 45th meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee – Illustrative image

The 46th meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee is expected to take place over six days, from June 3rd to 6th and June 9th to 10th, in the Tan Trao meeting room of the National Assembly building. National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man will deliver the opening speech and, together with the Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly, will chair the meeting according to the assigned agenda.

At this session, law building will remain a key focus. The National Assembly Standing Committee will provide opinions on the revision, explanation, and amendment of 28 draft laws. The agenda includes critical topics such as the Law on Amendments to the Law on the Organization of People’s Courts; Code of Civil Procedure; Law on Cadres and Civil Servants; Law on Advertising; Law on Special Consumption Tax; Law on State Budget; Law on Personal Data Protection; Law on Vietnamese Nationality; Law on Credit Institutions; Penal Code; and Code of Criminal Procedure.

Additionally, the National Assembly Standing Committee will discuss and provide opinions on the draft law on amendments to several articles in the laws related to national defense and security; the project on the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units in 2025; a resolution on the principles of arranging communal-level administrative units; draft resolutions related to the special financial mechanism for state administrative agencies; and a special mechanism for investing in the development of the railway system.

The meeting will also consider and pass other important legal documents and resolutions, including: An ordinance amending Article 10 of the Population Ordinance; coordination regulations between the Office of the National Assembly and the specialized agencies of the National Assembly; regulations on personnel work for full-time National Assembly deputies; amendments to the resolution on emulation and rewards; replacement of the model working regulations of the National Assembly committees; and guidance on the organization of the National Assembly delegation and People’s Councils at all levels after the rearrangement of administrative units.
