According to several dealership sales consultants in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class line is seeing record-low prices. The standard E 180 version is now available for as little as VND 1.77 billion. The E 200 and E 300 AMG variants are priced at approximately VND 1.96 billion and VND 2.27 billion, respectively. These prices reflect a significant discount of up to VND 680 million compared to the official prices listed on the website of Mercedes-Benz Vietnam.

While pricing may vary slightly between dealerships, these E-Class vehicles are all from the 2023 model year. The latest upgrade to this E-Class was introduced in the Vietnamese market back in 2021.

With these clearance prices, the E-Class is now even more affordable than its younger sibling, the C-Class, and is approaching the on-the-road price of the Toyota Camry. Currently, the most expensive Camry trim is priced at VND 1.53 billion, and the total cost, including registration, comes out to just over VND 1.7 billion.

This clearance sale of the older E-Class models makes sense, given that a new generation of this sedan is expected to launch soon. In April 2024, a new E-Class was spotted at an emissions testing center in Hanoi. It is unclear whether this vehicle was imported individually or brought in by Mercedes-Benz Vietnam.

The E-Class currently on the market is offered in three trim levels: E 180, E 200, and E 300 with the AMG Line package. When it was launched in 2021, the starting price was over VND 2.3 billion, and the top-of-the-line model was priced at more than VND 2.9 billion.

The facelifted E-Class features an exterior design that aligns with the current C-Class and S-Class models, while the interior retains the dual-screen setup of its predecessor, except for the new steering wheel design. All models are powered by a 2.0L engine with outputs tuned for each trim, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.

The upcoming new-generation E-Class for the Vietnamese market will feature a complete redesign inside and out, with an exterior that’s even more modern than the current C-Class and E-Class. The interior will draw inspiration from the EQS electric vehicle.

The E-Class’s direct competitor, the BMW 5 Series, is also expected to receive a new generation in Vietnam this year.
