Vietravel Airlines is expanding its fleet with new aircraft acquisitions.

After over six years of leasing aircraft, Vietravel Airlines is finally acquiring its own planes. The first Airbus A321 is expected to join the fleet on June 24, offering 228 seats suitable for domestic and short-haul international routes.

But that’s not all; in July 2025, the airline will add two more Airbus A320 aircraft with 182 seats each to stabilize its summer flight schedule and expand its route network from the third quarter of this year.

This fleet expansion comes just two months after Mr. Do Vinh Quang, the second son of Mr. Do Quang Hien, Chairman of the T&T Group, was elected as the Chairman of Vietravel Airlines’ Board of Directors for the 2025-2030 term.

At an extraordinary general meeting on April 1, Vietravel Airlines’ shareholders approved the dismissal of the entire Board of Directors and Supervisory Board for the 2022-2027 term and elected new members for the 2025-2030 term. In addition to Mr. Quang, the new Board includes Mr. Do Quang Vinh (eldest son of Mr. Hien), Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Nghi – Vice President of T&T Group, and key personnel from T&T Airlines and T&T SuperPort.

These leadership changes mark a significant milestone since the T&T Group announced that two of its member companies, along with the BVIM Investment Fund, became shareholders of Vietravel Airlines in early 2025.

Following his appointment, Mr. Do Vinh Quang affirmed the new Board’s goal to usher in a new phase of development through restructuring, standardizing governance systems, improving human resources quality, expanding the fleet, and operating additional domestic and international routes.

Mr. Do Quang Hien, Chairman of T&T Group, emphasized the importance of Vietravel Airlines joining the group’s ecosystem. He stated that the airline would be a strategic link in the chain of projects that T&T is developing, alongside logistics and aviation infrastructure.

Currently, T&T Group’s aviation ecosystem is likened to a “three-legged stool,” comprising Vietravel Airlines, T&T Airlines, and a network of logistics ports and airports. In July 2024, the group commenced construction on the Quang Tri Airport with a total investment of VND 5,800 billion.
