In mid-2025, the Dung Quat – Tri Binh interchange (in the administrative area of Binh Nguyen and Binh Chanh communes, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province) connecting the Danang – Quang Ngai Expressway to the Dung Quat Economic Zone, was officially resumed for construction and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.

A representative from the Danang – Quang Ngai Expressway Project Management Board shared that on the construction site, the contractor is urgently scraping off the approximately 20cm-thick weathered layer on the existing fill and disposing of it off-site; grading, and compacting to reshape the road foundation after years of stagnation.

The total construction value of this item is about 100 billion VND with a route length of about 2.1km, expected to be completed before December 31, 2025.

The goal is set to complete the asphalt concrete paving before October to avoid the impact of the rainy season, which would interrupt the construction.

Previously, as reported by VTC News, the Danang – Quang Ngai Expressway, with a total length of nearly 140km and a total investment of over VND 34,500 billion, was invested by the Vietnam Expressway Development and Investment Corporation and opened to traffic in September 2018. The section passing through Quang Ngai province is 32.4km long and has 3 interchanges.

While the other two interchanges have been completed and put into use, the Dung Quat – Tri Binh interchange has remained stagnant for years.

A year ago, VTC News Electronics recorded at this interchange that the construction unit had just completed the bridge crossing National Highway 1A and the North-South railway.

It is expected that once the Dung Quat – Tri Binh interchange is completed, it will contribute to promoting the development of the Dung Quat Economic Zone.
