The leadership of the People’s Committee of Binh Duong province recently held a meeting with local authorities to review the progress of compensation and land clearance for several key projects: the Ho Chi Minh City-Thu Dau Mot-Chon Thanh Highway, the Ho Chi Minh City Belt Road 4, and several related projects.

According to reports, Component 1 of the Ho Chi Minh City-Thu Dau Mot-Chon Thanh Highway project has a total investment of nearly VND 8,300 billion and a length of approximately 45.5 km, passing through four localities: Tan Uyen City, Bac Tan Uyen, Phu Giao, and Bau Bang districts.

The project will occupy about 380 hectares of land, of which over 322 hectares will be revoked. Approximately 1,650 households, individuals, and organizations will be affected, and nearly 200 cases will be arranged for resettlement.

So far, the approval rate for compensation and support plans, including resettlement, is at 0.23%. The total area of land handed over is nearly 36/322 hectares (11%).

For Component 1 of the Ho Chi Minh City Belt Road 4 project (from Thu Bien Bridge to Saigon River), the expected land retrieval area is about 240 hectares, affecting about 1,450 cases, of which about 300 cases are eligible for resettlement.

Currently, the land retrieval notification rate is at 96%, with 53% of the area surveyed, 34% of the drawings audited, and 49% of the inventory completed.

At the meeting, the units also reported on the progress and challenges in compensating and clearing land for the construction of the Thu Bien-Dat Cuoc Road and the Di An and Tan Dong Hiep Industrial Park drainage system projects.

To ensure the disbursement of the 2025 allocated capital for the project and the construction site, the Project Management Board of Traffic Construction Projects proposed that the People’s Committee direct the localities to expedite the progress of surveying, inventory, and public posting. Simultaneously, they should seek feedback from the people to finalize and approve the compensation plans.

Concluding the meeting, the leadership of the People’s Committee of Binh Duong province appreciated the efforts of the departments, branches, and localities in compensation and site clearance. They also directed the levels and branches to be more determined in disbursing public investment capital, especially for key projects.

The provincial leaders also requested that investors and district-level administrations pay attention to arranging resettlement land to ensure the stable lives of people affected by the clearance.
