On June 3rd, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), the Project Management Board for Power Projects 3 (EVNPMB3), and the winning contractor consortium held a signing ceremony for Package XL04-TAMR: Construction of Tri An Expanded Hydropower Plant – Tri An Expanded Hydropower Project in Dong Nai province.

Package XL04-TAMR is the main package of the project, with key works including: intake canal, intake structure, pressure pipeline, hydropower plant; discharge canal, connection of the plant to the existing power system, and construction support works…
To promote the internal strengths of domestic enterprises, this package was procured through domestic competitive bidding.
The successful contractor, Consortium for Package XL04-TAMR, offered a contract price of VND 1,451 billion, with a contract period of 960 days. The first unit is expected to be commissioned on September 30, 2027, and the second unit and complete project are expected to be completed by December 31, 2027.
According to EVN leaders, this is one of the key projects that EVN is implementing in 2025.
The signing of the construction contract for the Tri An Expanded Hydropower Plant is an important premise for the Project Management Board and the Contractor Consortium to proceed with site clearance and implementation of related works of the project, striving to ensure the goal of starting the project on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2nd.
The Tri An Expanded Hydropower Project in Dong Nai province was approved by the Prime Minister in the National Power Development Plan for the period 2021 – 2030, with a vision to 2050.
The project is invested by EVN with a total investment of VND 3,965 billion and an installed capacity of 200 MW (including 2 units x 100 MW). EVNPMB3 is directly managing the project.
The project’s capital sources include about 30% of self-arranged capital by the investor and about 70% of commercial loans from KfW and BIDV.
The expected progress of the project is as follows: Unit 1 will be commissioned in Q3/2027, Unit 2 in Q4/2027, and the entire project will be completed in Q4/2027.
