On June 2nd, Hanoi Metropolitan Railway One-Member Co., Ltd. (Hanoi Metro) announced that in response to reports of deterioration and damage to several components of the Cat Linh-Ha Dong urban railway line, the company has developed an emergency repair plan for certain sections.
Regarding the canopy over the escalators and outdoor pedestrian walkways at several stations, as of June 2nd, the dismantling and replacement of all parts damaged by Typhoon Yagi last year have been completed. These locations include the Thai Ha, Vanh Dai 3, Van Quan, and Yen Nghia stations.
For the canopy at Yen Nghia station, Hanoi Metro has procured the necessary materials and is expediting repairs and replacements, expected to be finished by June 5th.
Hanoi Metro also emphasized the regular maintenance of the canopy systems at the stations, including inspections, gluing, tightening bolts, and cleaning to ensure the safety and operational reliability of the canopy structures.

In terms of station facilities, Hanoi Metro has finished replacing and repairing 5 out of 5 CCTV monitors at the Yen Nghia, Ha Dong, and La Thanh stations. Additionally, 55 speakers across 12 stations have been fixed or replaced.
The maintenance team has also temporarily adjusted and resolved issues with the LED PIS system (train arrival and departure displays) to ensure passengers can view the train schedules at all 12 stations. A complete resolution is anticipated by June 20th.
Hanoi Metro is in the process of procuring replacement parts to fix the faulty ticket vending machines as soon as possible. These components were custom-made for the project back in 2014-2015 and are not readily available on the market, requiring time for procurement and shipping to Vietnam. Repairs are expected to be completed by October.
The elevator and escalator systems at the 12 stations have been inspected and maintained to ensure normal operations. On May 30th, a technical issue occurred with an elevator at the Thuong Dinh station and an escalator at the Phung Khoang station, which are being addressed according to maintenance protocols, with completion expected by June 6th.
Regarding the public drinking water dispensers and phone charging stations at the La Khe station, Hanoi Metro explained that these facilities were part of a pilot project during the development of the model station. After assessing water quality safety, passenger demand for drinking water, and the short waiting times at the station, the investor decided to discontinue their operation.
“We seek the understanding and continued support of our valued passengers,” a representative from Hanoi Metro stated.
