According to the inspection team, the Fresh Shop stores owned by the C.P. Company are operating normally and complying with the current regulations on trading animal products. They are able to provide relevant documents showing the origin of the products, and display price lists, labels, production dates, expiration dates, etc.

According to the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Can Tho city, the city currently has 22 centralized animal slaughter facilities (17 cattle slaughterhouses and 5 poultry slaughterhouses). Among them are 8 large supermarkets, 136 mini-supermarkets, 7 Fresh Shop C.P. stores, and 10 stores and cold storage facilities for imported animal products…

The daily slaughter volume is over 1,500 cattle and 13,500 poultry. Among them, the number of animals slaughtered by C.P. Company at the two facilities in Phong Dien District and Thot Not District is about 150 pigs per day. The products from the slaughterhouses in the area mainly serve the local consumption demand and a very small part is supplied to some neighboring provinces.

“The Department is implementing a plan to ensure food safety and improve the quality of agricultural products in the field of animal husbandry and veterinary medicine in 2025. Through this plan, we aim to proactively and timely detect and strictly handle any violations of food safety regulations in the field of animal husbandry and veterinary medicine,” said a representative of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Can Tho city.
