On June 3, the Quang Tri Provincial Police announced that they are investigating and verifying a case involving a truck transporting nine dead pigs of unknown origin.

Earlier, in the afternoon of June 2nd, at a centralized animal slaughter facility in Dong Luong Ward, Dong Ha City, Quang Tri Province, the Provincial Police’s Department of Economic, Corruption, Smuggling, and Environmental Crime Investigation (PC03) collaborated with the Quang Tri Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Branch to uncover a case of transporting dead animals, suspected of violating the law.

The task force inspected the parked truck with license plate 75C-10301 at the slaughterhouse’s premises and discovered nine dead pigs inside.

Through their investigation, the authorities identified Mr. Dang Van Duy (DOB: 1991, residing in Phong Dien, Hue City) as the owner of the animals.

Mr. Duy admitted to purchasing these pigs from trucks in Hai Lang District but could not present any documents verifying their origin at the time of the inspection.

The authorities have seized and will proceed to destroy the nine dead pigs in accordance with regulations, and the case is still under further investigation.
