The Thai Binh Provincial Police recently announced that from May 28 to June 3, the Traffic Police Division recorded and penalized 184 vehicles for violating traffic laws using the “penalty by mail” method.


Through the surveillance camera system, the traffic police identified 6 cases of vehicles violating the “Failure to comply with traffic light signals” regulation:

During their patrols and inspections, the traffic police also recorded 178 cases of vehicles violating the speed limit:

According to Decree 168, driving a car at a speed exceeding the limit by 5-10 km/h will result in a fine of VND 800,000 – VND 1,000,000. However, this violation will not lead to the vehicle being impounded or points being deducted from the driver’s license. For driving a car at a speed exceeding the limit by 10-20 km/h, the fine will be VND 4,000,000 – VND 6,000,000, and 2 points will be deducted from the driver’s license.


For driving a car at a speed exceeding the limit by more than 20-35 km/h, the fine is VND 6,000,000 – VND 8,000,000, and 4 points will be deducted. If the car’s speed exceeds the limit by more than 35 km/h, the fine is VND 12,000,000 – VND 14,000,000, and 6 points will be deducted from the driver’s license.


Additionally, if a driver exceeds the speed limit and causes a traffic accident, the fine is VND 20,000,000 – VND 22,000,000, and 10 points will be deducted from their license.


For those riding motorcycles, scooters, or similar vehicles, the fines for speeding are as follows: exceeding the speed limit by 5-10 km/h results in a fine of VND 400,000 – VND 600,000; by 10-20 km/h, the fine is VND 800,000 – VND 1,000,000; and exceeding the speed limit by more than 20 km/h will result in a fine of VND 6,000,000 – VND 8,000,000. If the driver of a motorcycle or scooter exceeds the speed limit and causes a traffic accident, the fine is VND 10,000,000 – VND 14,000,000, and 10 points will be deducted from their license.


According to Decree 168, in cases where a traffic accident is not caused, running a red light will result in a fine of VND 18,000,000 – VND 20,000,000 for car drivers and VND 4,000,000 – VND 6,000,000 for motorcycle or scooter drivers. Additionally, 4 points will be deducted from the driver’s license.

Step 1: Download and install the VNeTraffic app on your phone from the App Store or CH Play.


Step 2: Log in to your account. If you don’t have an account, register by following these steps: Choose to register, then scan the QR code in the upper right corner of the CCCD card. Verify your information, enter your phone number, and click “Confirm”. The system will then send an OTP code to your phone, which you need to enter, along with setting a password.


Step 3: To check for personal violations, select the “Violation Inquiry” section.


Step 4: Enter the license plate number you want to check and click “Check”.
