In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism (June 21, 1925 – June 21, 2025), the Press Department, Culture Newspaper (Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism) in collaboration with the Hanoi Small and Medium Enterprise Association (HANOISME) organized a workshop on “Journalism accompanying the construction and development of enterprise culture in the new era.”
The workshop aims to implement Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW of the Politburo on private economic development, which identifies the private sector as one of the most important driving forces of the national economy.
In addition, it is geared towards building a team of virtuous and culturally-oriented entrepreneurs, emphasizing honesty, integrity, social responsibility, and a connection to national identity, while also embracing the best of global business culture. This vision is underpinned by a strong moral and cultural foundation and a commitment to the rule of law.

In the process of building and developing enterprise culture, journalism plays a crucial role for businesses, not only as a communication tool but also as a strategic channel for brand building, crisis management, and community engagement. Journalism significantly contributes to enhancing the enterprise’s brand value.
Moreover, journalism serves as a credible medium for enterprise brand development, connecting enterprises with the global audience and customer base. Reputable news articles help enterprises establish credibility with their clientele. Journalism disseminates the enterprise’s positive image, values, and mission, effectively storytelling the enterprise’s products and services.
Through journalism, enterprises communicate their culture to the world, and simultaneously, journalism serves as a mirror for enterprises to reflect on their practices, enabling them to adjust, consolidate, and sustainably develop their enterprise culture.
“The development of enterprises and their culture must go hand in hand with journalism, and vice versa,” emphasized Mr. Ho An Phong, Vice Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. “This relationship is bidirectional. Journalism strengthens the enterprise’s brand and reputation among partners and customers, while also guiding and communicating the development of enterprise culture.”
Highlighting the role of journalism in building and developing enterprise culture, especially in the new era, in his introductory speech, Dr. Nguyen Anh Vu, Editor-in-Chief of Culture Newspaper, asserted that journalism is not merely a source of information but also a “companion” and a “creator,” contributing to the formation of a humane and modern business ecosystem.

In the digital age, where information is a vital resource, journalism can pioneer the establishment and dissemination of enterprise cultural values to society and the community.
While acknowledging the recognized role of journalism in promoting enterprise culture, Dr. Nguyen Anh Vu candidly addressed existing shortcomings that need to be overcome. The collaboration between enterprises and journalism is often short-term and lacks long-term strategic alignment. Additionally, a portion of enterprises has not fully grasped the significance of media and enterprise culture, resulting in passive responses or underinvestment in media relations.
To materialize journalism’s role in accompanying enterprise culture development, Dr. Nguyen Anh Vu suggested the formulation of a national communication strategy for enterprise culture, with journalism at its core for content and message dissemination.
Simultaneously, promoting a model of responsible cooperative media engagement is essential, where enterprises proactively provide transparent information, and journalism reflects it honestly. Together, they strive for sustainable development, benefiting both parties.
In recognition of their significant contributions to the development of enterprise culture, the organizers honored five outstanding media outlets: Vietnam Economic Magazine, Enterprise Forum Magazine, Dan Tri Newspaper, Finance and Investment Newspaper, and Economy and Urban Newspaper.
“Returning the Durian Industry to its Sustainable Production and Consumption ‘Orbit’”
The decline in durian export volume and value during the first five months of 2025 serves as a stark warning of the imbalance between the growth in production and the capacity to organize it effectively. It also highlights the gap between the increasingly demanding requirements of import markets and the ability of domestic production to keep pace.

Planting the Vietnamese Business Flag on the International Market
The untapped potential of the cross-border e-commerce market is vast, but Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprises face significant barriers to entry. It is imperative that the government steps up to provide enhanced support to these businesses. This will ensure that once they have established a foothold in the international arena, they can firmly maintain their presence and thrive.
