Yadea, a prominent name in the electric vehicle industry, has unveiled its latest offering in Vietnam – the Yadea Velax. With its impressive design and attractive starting price, the Velax is poised to shake up the electric scooter market and even rival traditional fuel-powered scooters like the Honda Vision.
The Yadea Velax will be available in three variants: the Velax H (standard), Velax U, and Velax Fast. The standard Velax H has been announced with a competitive price tag of 29.99 million VND, while the pricing for the higher-end models has not yet been disclosed by Yadea.
The Velax boasts a bold and dynamic design, described by Yadea as having a “battle-ready” style. Its body features distinct and angular lines, giving it a modern and energetic feel. The front of the scooter is accentuated by a sleek LED light bar and a wide body, making it stand out on the road.
With overall dimensions of 1,944 x 704 x 1,097 mm, the Velax has a seat height of 760 mm and a weight of 110 kg. These proportions create a well-balanced and versatile scooter suitable for a wide range of riders. Additionally, with a ground clearance of 712 mm, the Velax can navigate Vietnam’s varied road conditions with ease.
In terms of features, the Yadea Velax comes equipped with a color display that shows essential riding information such as speed and battery level. The display also supports Bluetooth connectivity and can be linked to the Yadea app on smartphones.
The control switches are conveniently located, with the left handlebar featuring buttons for the high and low beam headlights and the horn. The right handlebar includes a hazard light button, enhancing safety during long rides or when extra caution is needed.
The scooter also offers a spacious footrest area and a comfortable, tiered seat design. It rides on 14-inch, 10-spoke wheels and benefits from disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels. Although it lacks ABS, the Velax incorporates a combined braking system (CBS) for improved safety during braking. The under-seat storage compartment provides a generous 13 liters of space for daily essentials.
The key difference between the Velax variants lies in their battery capacities and charging technologies. The standard Velax H is equipped with a 76V 30Ah LFP battery (2.28 kWh) and Yadea’s proprietary TTFAR motor technology, delivering a rated power of 2kW (approximately 2.7 hp) and an impressive peak torque of 172Nm. According to Yadea, the Velax H can reach a top speed of 64 km/h and offers a maximum range of 80 km on a single charge.
With its competitive pricing starting at 29.99 million VND for the standard model, sporty design, and convenient features, the Yadea Velax is expected to be a notable contender in Vietnam’s electric scooter market. It promises to offer strong competition to existing players and has the potential to attract young customers seeking a stylish, high-quality electric scooter at a reasonable price.
