A glimpse of Long Dat district, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province.
The People’s Committee of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province recently organized a meeting to discuss the master plan for the new Phuoc Hai urban area in Long Dat district, with a vision towards 2050.
The planning area covers approximately 2,892 hectares, encompassing the entirety of the current Phuoc Hai town and Long My commune.
The area has been designated as a type V new urban area and a tourist town within the Long Hai – Binh Chau national tourist area. It is envisioned to be a southern development hub for Long Dat district.
The region will focus on developing fisheries, agriculture, and high-tech agriculture, alongside tourism.
The master plan includes functional zones such as existing and new residential areas, mixed-use agricultural and residential zones, and a diverse range of resort services including hotels, resorts, restaurants, entertainment facilities, and commercial services. It also incorporates public service facilities, parks, lakes, and transportation networks that connect the area, providing access to the coastline and a seaside road for sightseeing, research, and experiential tourism.
Based on the existing zones, the master plan defines the scale, location, and spatial organization of the central areas and functional zones. It also identifies architecturally significant landscapes with tourism potential, integrating them with existing facilities.
Specifically, the plan proposes a new residential area on the Long Phu field, with a long-term land use direction, and a tourism and sports service cluster around So Bong lake. It also suggests a cable car system connecting the urban tourism space around So Bong lake and the religious site at Mount Minh Dam.
During the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Nguyen Van Tho, requested the Department of Construction to coordinate with the consulting unit to build a world-class seaside square, elevating the stature of the new urban area. He also instructed them to absorb the contributions of the departments, branches, and localities to supplement and complete the master plan for the new Phuoc Hai urban area in Long Dat district by 2050, and then report to the Provincial People’s Committee.
