The four projects, including the Hoa Lien-Tuy Loan, Quang Ngai-Hoai Nhon, Hoi Nhon-Quy Nhon, and Quy Nhon-Chi Thanh sections, have a total length of over 231 kilometers, accounting for nearly 25% of the remaining work towards the goal of completing 3,000 kilometers of expressways nationwide by the end of next year.
According to reports, many difficulties have been overcome in the past, such as supplementing construction materials, adjusting capital, and handing over additional land. Some projects have achieved high construction output, such as the Hoi Nhon-Quy Nhon project, which is nearly 73% complete, and the Quy Nhon-Chi Thanh project, which is over 76% complete. The Hoa Lien-Tuy Loan project is expected to be open to traffic by the National Day holiday on September 2nd of this year.
However, there are still some challenges, including land handover issues in Quang Ngai, with some households obstructing construction, and the slow progress of the Quang Ngai-Hoai Nhon section. The Deputy Prime Minister instructed the provinces, contractors, and investors to accelerate work by organizing three shifts and four teams, even on holidays and weekends, and by mobilizing modern machinery and technical solutions to make up for the delayed work.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh emphasized the need to ensure the quality of the projects and not compromise technical standards for the sake of progress. He also requested that local authorities complete land clearance as soon as possible and ensure labor safety and environmental protection during construction.
These key projects will not only contribute to the goal of completing 3,000 kilometers of expressways but also hold strategic significance for the South-Central region. The government recognizes that completing these sections on schedule will create a development momentum, improve infrastructure, and enhance regional connectivity in the long term.
