They also asked for the handling of any violations in accordance with the law and the provision of inspection and handling results to the press.

The People’s Committee of Duc Trong District has assigned the People’s Committee of Ta Hine Commune to coordinate with relevant units to urgently inspect and handle the situation as directed by the People’s Committee of Duc Trong District. The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Duc Trong District is in charge of urging the People’s Committee of Ta Hine Commune to implement the directed contents and then advise and propose to the People’s Committee of Duc Trong District for handling any violations.

Previously, as reported by Nguoi Lao Dong, a large-scale land theft incident occurred in the investment project of the commercial, tourism, and ecological resort area of Dai Ninh (Dai Ninh project) belonging to Saigon Dai Ninh Tourism Investment Joint Stock Company (Saigon Dai Ninh Company) in Duc Trong District, Lam Dong Province.

In the late hours of May 26, in compartment 364 of Ta Hine Commune, which is part of the Dai Ninh project, the forest protection management force caught red-handed machinery stealing land on an area of 457 square meters. The culprit fled the scene upon detection.

However, through their investigation, the functional forces suspected that the perpetrator was Mr. D. (a resident of Ta Hine Commune). The amount of land excavated and removed at the time of the incident was estimated to be about 90 cubic meters.

The Dai Ninh project of Saigon Dai Ninh Company has a total investment capital of VND 25,243 billion, covering an area of 3,959 hectares across four communes: Ninh Gia, Ninh Loan, Phu Hoi, and Ta Hine, in Duc Trong District.

Over the past 14 years, the project has resulted in the loss of 257.5 hectares of forest and the encroachment of 111 hectares of forest land. The investor had to compensate for the loss of 257 hectares of forest with a sum of approximately VND 18.8 billion.
