On June 4 and 5, authorities in Binh Duong province inspected nine Fresh Shop outlets owned by C.P. Vietnam.

During the inspections, officials observed that products bearing the C.P. Vietnam brand were being sold as usual in the Fresh Shop outlets. The display cases and shelves for fresh meat, processed food, and packaged dry goods maintained proper pricing, production dates, packaging dates, and expiration dates as per regulations.

The shop owners provided legal documents, import-export paperwork, and complied with food safety regulations. They also maintained and ensured food safety conditions in production and business operations, as well as food traceability at the stores.

According to reporters, despite no violations being recorded by the authorities, the number of customers purchasing C.P. Vietnam products at some Fresh Shop outlets in Binh Duong has noticeably decreased.

Specifically, during the inspection conducted by the Department of Livestock, Animal Health, and Fisheries of Binh Duong province between 8:30 AM and 10:00 AM on June 4, only four customers purchased pork at the Fresh Shop outlet in Thong Nhat Ward, Di An City.

A staff member at this store shared that following the controversy surrounding C.P. Vietnam’s alleged sale of “sick pigs,” their daily sales have halved. Some regular customers have even questioned and raised concerns with the staff.

Meanwhile, an employee at the Fresh Shop outlet in An Phu Ward, Thuan An City, stated that their daily sales have dropped from an average of 70-90 kg to only 20-40 kg.

According to reporters’ findings, these Fresh Shop outlets primarily supplied pork and chicken to restaurants, schools, and other institutions. The number of customers visiting the stores directly was not significant.

Following the scandal, some businesses have decided to sever ties with C.P. Vietnam. “After the negative news about C.P. Vietnam, two schools in the area have terminated their contracts for pork and chicken supply,” shared a staff member at the Fresh Shop outlet in Tan Dong Hiep Ward, Di An City.
