The current transportation infrastructure connecting Hai Phong City and Hai Duong Province relies primarily on two main routes: National Highway 5 and the Hanoi-Hai Phong Expressway. Additional connections are also available in the Thuy Nguyen and An Lao districts.

A glimpse of Hai Duong City.
In anticipation of increased travel demands following the integration, Hai Phong’s Department of Construction has been studying new and improved transportation routes, including:
- Constructing access roads along National Highway 5 in Hai Duong Province and Hai Phong City.
- Upgrading and expanding the inter-provincial road connecting through Dinh Bridge.
- Upgrading and expanding the inter-provincial road connecting through Quang Thanh Bridge.
- Establishing a link from Provincial Road 352 (Thuy Nguyen) to National Highway 17B (Kinh Mon) via Han-Cam River (a branch of Kinh Thay River).
- Investing in a key road connection from Ring Road 1 (Bui Thi Xuan Bridge approach road) in Hai Duong City to the intersection of National Highway 10 and Nguyen Truong To Street in An Duong District, Hai Phong City.
- Creating a transportation link between Gia Binh Airport (Bac Ninh) and Lach Huyen Port (Hai Phong).
Out of these options, the construction of the key road connection from Ring Road 1 in Hai Duong to the intersection of National Highway 10 and Nguyen Truong To Street in Hai Phong, as well as the establishment of a transportation link between Gia Binh Airport and Lach Huyen Port, have been prioritized for early investment.
These projects are expected to boost inter-regional connectivity, open up new development spaces, and provide a development impetus for the localities in the future.
