On June 7th, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ca Mau province, Lam Van Bi, announced that the province has formed multiple inspection teams to examine the working and living conditions of officials following the merger of several communes. As of now, the local authorities have made the necessary preparations for the new administrative body to begin operations smoothly.
“The province is determined to ensure that a lack of funds for repairing offices and residences for commune-level officials will not disrupt the functioning of the government or the public service units,” Mr. Bi asserted.

According to statistics from Ca Mau province, there were 1,630 commune offices before the merger. After the reorganization, 1,531 offices will remain in use, leaving 99 surplus buildings. The localities designated as the main sites for the new communes are expediting repairs and upgrades to ensure suitable working and living conditions for officials, allowing them to focus on their duties.
Mr. Nguyen The Chau, Chairman of Tran Van Thoi District People’s Committee, stated that the district regularly inspects and urges the communes to hasten the renovation of offices and residences to reassure officials who live far from their workplaces.
“For commune offices with limited space, we will install temporary partitions to create separate working areas for officials and to receive citizens. We are committed to ensuring uninterrupted administrative procedures,” Mr. Chau added.

“During a press conference held on June 4th, Deputy Minister of Construction, Nguyen Danh Huy, emphasized the ministry’s unwavering commitment to streamlining administrative procedures related to licensing. He assured that the ministry is dedicated to thoroughly reviewing, simplifying, and, if necessary, abolishing redundant processes. The ultimate goal is to create a conducive environment that empowers citizens, businesses, and local communities by providing them with efficient and accessible services.”
