Deputy Minister of Construction Le Anh Tuan and his entourage have just had a working session with the People’s Committee of Dak Lak province on the progress of the Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot Expressway project.

A bridge on Component 3 of the Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot Expressway project is nearing completion

According to a report by the Project Management Board for Traffic and Rural Agriculture Infrastructure Construction Investment of Dak Lak province (the investor), Component 3 of the Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot Expressway project is over 48km long, with a total investment of more than VND 6,000 billion.

So far, the total construction value of Component 3 has reached more than VND 2,188 billion, achieving nearly 52% of the contract value and falling behind by 14% compared to the committed plan.

Of this, Package 3 of Component 3 has only achieved over 45% of the contract value, falling behind by 20% compared to the plan. Two out of three contractors of Component 3 with the slowest progress are the Central Southern Construction and Installation Joint Stock Company (behind by 25% compared to the plan) and Construction Corporation No. 1 (behind by 22% compared to the plan).

Regarding the reasons for the delay, the investor attributed it to difficulties in sourcing rocks and soil from the Ea Kenh mine (Krong Pak district), as the provincial People’s Committee only issued a decision on land lease on May 30.

In addition, some contractors have not proactively increased manpower and equipment to catch up with the delayed works…

Earlier, the Government Office issued a notice conveying the conclusion of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at a working session with the leaders of Dak Lak province.

The Prime Minister requested that Dak Lak province promote its achievements, focus on completing the construction items, striving to put into use 48km of Component 3 of the investment project for construction of phase I of Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot expressway before August 30, 2025, to celebrate 80 years of National Day and party congresses at all levels.
