On June 8, PLO had an interview with Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy, Deputy Chief of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment). She informed that after receiving the official dispatch from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment requesting the Ministry of Public Security to investigate and handle the information spread on social media about the accusation of Company C.P Vietnam selling diseased pork, the Ministry of Public Security’s Department of Environmental Crime Investigation (C05) had worked with the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary to learn more about the incident.
“The meeting took place on June 5,” said Ms. Thuy.
According to Ms. Thuy, on June 7 and 8, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary also dispatched a working group to Hau Giang Province to continue working on this issue.
“The working group of the Department works independently and does not coordinate with any ministry or sector,” Ms. Thuy added.

Earlier, on June 4, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Phung Duc Tien signed an official letter to the Ministry of Public Security requesting an investigation and handling of the information spread on social media about the accusation of C.P Livestock Joint Stock Company selling diseased pork.
In the letter sent to the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment stated that on May 30, a post from the account “Jonny Lieu” appeared on social media, quickly spreading and accusing the leadership of C.P. Vietnam of several serious violations.
These violations allegedly occurred at the C.P. Fresh Shop My Xuyen in My Xuyen town, My Xuyen district, Soc Trang province.
Specifically, the post mentioned: “Every day, the store mixes diseased pork and chicken with a foul stench and instructs employees to sell them in the Soc Trang market.”
Upon receiving this information, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment instructed the veterinary specialist agency to coordinate with local functional forces to verify the information.
The People’s Committee of Soc Trang Province directed the Department of Agriculture and Environment to coordinate with the Department of Health, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Public Security, and relevant agencies and localities to conduct a sudden inspection based on the reflected content.
Regarding the images of pork with multiple red spots that were accused of being diseased but still stamped with the slaughter control stamp by C.P. Company and sold in the market, on June 5, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary reported the inspection results as follows:
The incident of incorrect slaughter control stamp application occurred at 1 am on March 26, 2022, at the Dững-Nga livestock slaughter facility in Phung Hiep District, Hau Giang Province. The person who stamped incorrectly was Mr. N.L.C., an official of the Phung Hiep District Animal Husbandry, Veterinary, and Fisheries Station.
In the latest development two days ago, the person who accused C.P. Vietnam of selling diseased pork continued to release additional images of pigs with abnormal red spots hanging on a rack at a slaughterhouse in Chau Thanh A District, Hau Giang Province, on their personal social media page.
