The automotive market is showing signs of slowing down, and car brands are responding by offering a series of promotions to stimulate sales. This is especially true in the highly competitive compact SUV segment, where two popular models, the Mazda CX-5 and Ford Territory, are now available at all-time low prices for June.
Ford is offering a 100% discount on the first registration fee for the Ford Territory, equivalent to a reduction of up to 76-89 million VND. This brings the effective selling price of the vehicle down to 683-800 million VND for June.
Ford Territory benefits from significant price reductions for several consecutive months.
Meanwhile, the Mazda CX-5 continues to be offered at a promotional price of 714 million VND, along with a service gift worth 15 million VND. According to a Mazda dealership in Hanoi, this gift can be converted into cash and deducted from the selling price, bringing the price of the Deluxe version down to 699 million VND.
This means that the highest discount for the standard Mazda CX-5 can be up to 50 million VND. Higher-end versions also come with benefits, but the discounts are lower, ranging from 30 to 45 million VND.
Competitive pricing has helped Mazda CX-5 solidify its leadership position in the compact SUV segment.
As a result, the starting prices of both the Ford Territory and Mazda CX-5 for June are below 700 million VND. This price point even rivals some higher-end subcompact SUV models such as the Toyota Yaris Cross HEV (765 million), Kia Seltos Turbo GT Line (799 million), Hyundai Creta 2025 N Line (715 million), and Toyota Corolla Cross (820-905 million VND).
Aside from Ford Territory and Mazda CX-5, other compact SUV models such as the Hyundai Tucson, Honda CR-V, and Kia Sportage are also offering discounts to gain a larger market share.
In June, the Subaru Forester remains the model with the deepest discounts in the compact SUV segment in Vietnam. Specifically, the 2024 Forester (VIN 2024) is being offered at a promotional price of 799-969 million VND, a reduction of 170-230 million VND.
The compact SUV segment has also been heating up with the recent introduction of the new Skoda Karoq. Furthermore, the group will soon welcome the 2025 Ford Territory – a mid-cycle refresh currently undergoing road testing in Vietnam before its official launch.
In terms of sales, the Mazda CX-5 remains the leader in the compact SUV segment in Vietnam, with 4,438 units sold in the first four months of the year. According to Mazda Vietnam, the model recorded sales of over 1,500 units in May 2025, a slight increase from 1,416 units in April.
Other car brands have not yet released their sales results for May. As of April 2025, the Ford Territory is the closest competitor to the Mazda CX-5 in the sales race, with 3,040 units sold.
This figure represents a significant 83% increase compared to the same period last year. However, the gap between the Ford Territory and Mazda CX-5 remains substantial, at nearly 1,400 units. The Hyundai Tucson (2,431 units), Honda CR-V (1,769 units), Kia Sportage (695 units), and Mitsubishi Outlander (216 units) are the next best-selling models in the segment.
