The People’s Committee of Bac Ninh province has recently sent a document to the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Public Security for appraisal of the proposal to adjust the investment project for constructing an urban area serving the Thuân Thành III Industrial Park – Subdivision B.

The province requested the two ministries to determine whether the project falls within the scope of national defense and security. This is essential to establish if the project will be permitted to sell properties to foreigners.

The investment project for constructing an urban area serving the Thuân Thành III Industrial Park – Subdivision B is located in Gia Đông ward, Thuân Thành town. The project covers an area of 702,850.4 square meters and includes public works such as healthcare, education, administration (administrative headquarters, agencies, and neighborhood cultural houses), as well as commercial, service, and office areas.

The total expected investment amounts to over VND 10,727 billion, proposed by Trung Quý – Bac Ninh Joint Stock Company. The urban area is planned to operate for 50 years, with a development period from 2025 to 2035.

The People’s Committee of Bac Ninh province assigned the Department of Finance, in coordination with the Military Command and the Public Security of the province, to provide documents and collaborate with the two ministries upon request.

Bac Ninh is currently considered the industrial hub of Northern Vietnam. Thanks to its favorable geographical location, close to Hanoi and major transport arteries, Bac Ninh has attracted numerous prominent corporations such as Samsung, Canon, Foxconn, and both domestic and foreign enterprises. Yên Phong, VSIP, and Quế Võ Industrial Parks are shining examples of the province’s industrial development map.

Seven new urban area projects with a total investment of over VND 100,000 billion are being expedited.

The largest-scale project among these is the Tay Bac Bac Ninh New Urban Area (Zone 1), invested in by a joint venture including Vingroup. This urban area covers an area of nearly 270 hectares in Hòa Long ward, Bac Ninh city, with a total investment of over VND 41,270 billion. The remaining projects are smaller in scale and are located in Bac Ninh city, Từ Sơn, and Tiên Du district. The total investment of these seven projects amounts to VND 104,961 billion.

In recent times, prominent real estate enterprises such as Vingroup and Sun Group have invested in projects in the province. Phú Mỹ Hưng also officially started the construction of the VND 27,000 billion Hong Hac Eco Urban Area in mid-April 2025.

Additionally, Bac Ninh is attracting investments for large-scale urban area projects, such as the new urban area (Sub-area 112.1) in Lim town, with an area of 299 hectares and a total investment of over VND 19,700 billion; the new urban and service area in Khắc Niệm ward, Vân Dương ward, and Đại Phúc ward, Bac Ninh city, with an investment of VND 13,599 billion; and the new urban area in Liên Bão and Hoàn Sơn communes, Tiên Du district, with an investment of VND 13,680 billion…

Alongside the urban area projects, Bac Ninh is also developing the Gia Bình International Airport, which was approved in the Master Plan for the Development of the National Airport and Airfield System for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision towards 2050. The total estimated investment for this airport project is approximately VND 29,765 billion.
