The Government Office has sent a document to the Minister of Construction and the Chairman of the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province, communicating Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha’s opinion on handling the land area in Subdivision III of Binh Son Resettlement Area, which is part of the land recovery, compensation, support, and resettlement project for the Long Thanh International Airport.
Considering the Ministry of Construction’s proposal in Document No. 4313/BXD-KTQLXD (dated May 30, 2025) regarding the authority to implement the land in Subdivision III of Binh Son Resettlement Area, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has assigned the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province to provide information as proposed by the Ministry of Construction and actively coordinate with the Ministry during the process.
The Ministry of Construction is requested to seriously implement the Deputy Prime Minister’s direction by studying and proposing specific solutions to handle the proposals of the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province. A report on this matter should be submitted to the Prime Minister before June 20, 2025.
Previously, in April 2025, the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province sent a document to the Prime Minister requesting permission to take back the land in Subdivision III of Binh Son Resettlement Area (with an area of over 81 hectares) that is part of the land recovery, compensation, support, and resettlement project for Long Thanh Airport (for which compensation has been paid) to promote socio-economic development according to the locality’s planning.
In Document No. 4313 sent to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, the Ministry of Construction agreed with the opinion of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment on adjusting the project of land recovery, compensation, support, and resettlement for Long Thanh Airport, including reducing the area of Subdivision III of Binh Son Resettlement Area to efficiently utilize land for socio-economic development goals. This adjustment is deemed necessary to avoid wastefulness if the land is not used for resettlement purposes.
Additionally, the Ministry of Construction proposed that Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha request the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province to report specifically on three related contents: the goal of using the resettlement area for socio-economic development according to the locality’s planning; the implemented mechanisms and policies on compensation, support, and resettlement for affected households; and the plan and method to use the provincial budget to refund the central budget as stipulated.
