On June 11th, the Economic Police Department of Binh Duong Provincial Public Security announced the temporary detention of Pham Ngoc Thach (DOB: 1990; residing in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City) for alleged use of forged documents to commit fraud.

According to initial information, authorities recently discovered that Pham Ngoc Thach and his accomplices had been using fake land-use right certificates to enter into power-of-attorney agreements and land transfer contracts, with the intention of appropriating others’ assets.

The suspects (seated on the floor) were apprehended at a notary office.

On June 10th, as the perpetrators attempted to finalize the transfer of two plots of land in Cay Truong 2, Bau Bang District, Binh Duong, using two fraudulent land-use right certificates at a notary office in Di An City, Binh Duong, they were caught red-handed by the police. The authorities seized the relevant documents, along with a substantial sum of money amounting to 8 billion VND, intended for this illicit transaction.

The investigation is ongoing to determine the extent of involvement and the roles played by each of the implicated individuals.
