On June 10, 2025, Green and Smart Mobility JSC (GSM) launched its electric taxi service, Green GSM, in the Philippines, becoming the first electric taxi brand in the country.

The Philippines marks the fourth market entry for GSM, following Vietnam, Laos, and Indonesia. This expansion also signifies a significant step in the company’s Go Green Global strategy to introduce pure electric transportation to international markets.

The launch event was held at the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City and was graced by prominent figures, including Ma. Cristina A. Roque, Secretary of Trade and Industry (DTI); Vivencio Bringas Dizon, Secretary of Transportation (DOTr); Frederick D. Go, Presidential Adviser on Investments and the Economy; Teofilo E. Guadiz III, Chairman of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB); Joy Belmonte, Mayor of Quezon City; and Thai Binh Lai, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Philippines, along with nearly 100 strategic partners from banking, transportation, energy, retail, and technology sectors.

Global GSM CEO (3rd from right), GSM Philippines CEO (far left), and representatives from the government, the Vietnamese Embassy, and guests officiated the launch of Green GSM’s electric taxi service in the Philippines.

Green GSM commenced operations in 10 out of 16 cities and areas within Metro Manila, the economic, political, and cultural center of the Philippines, with a population of over 13 million. The fleet consists of modern VinFast Nerio Green electric vehicles, ensuring a smooth and eco-friendly riding experience.

The distinctive teal color of the fleet combines green, representing sustainability, and blue, symbolizing pioneering technology. This choice of color underscores Green GSM’s commitment to offering a modern lifestyle in harmony with the environment.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Global GSM CEO, addresses the audience during the event.

Riding with Green GSM is not just about convenience; it’s about embracing a greener lifestyle. Each journey contributes to reducing emissions and mitigating air and noise pollution, empowering individuals to make sustainable choices in their daily lives.

Operating with an international standard, Green GSM promises a 5-star service with a team of professional drivers trained in skills, etiquette, and road safety.

All vehicles are equipped with the Secure to Safe (S2S) monitoring system, built on three core values: Secure – proactive monitoring and risk management; Safe – ensuring peace of mind for all passengers, especially women, children, and the elderly; and Smart – leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance operational efficiency and transparency.

Ma. Cristina A. Roque, Secretary of Trade and Industry (DTI), delivers her remarks at the event.

Green GSM offers transparent pricing with integrated meters in the vehicles and publicly available rates on the mobile app. The service is competitively priced and provides exceptional value for money, ensuring a comfortable, convenient, and luxurious journey that justifies the cost.

With the message “Hello Philippines: Move Forward the Green Way,” Green GSM aspires to become a symbol of a civilized lifestyle in the Philippines, where mobility is not just convenient but also environmentally conscious, improving the quality of life in metropolitan areas.

Vivencio Bringas Dizon, Secretary of Transportation (DOTr), shares his insights at the event.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Global GSM CEO, remarked:

“The Philippines is a strategic milestone in our Go Green Global journey. Beyond market expansion, Green GSM’s ultimate goal is to foster a true sustainable shift – from traditional to green, clean, and modern mobility, with a clear commitment to social responsibility towards the environment and community.”

Customers can access Green GSM’s electric taxi service via the Green GSM app, available on the App Store and Google Play, by calling the hotline 02-7777-8080, or by hailing a Green GSM taxi on the road or at designated public parking areas within Green GSM’s operating zones in Metro Manila.

Thai Binh Lai, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Philippines, shares his thoughts at the event.

To celebrate the launch, Green GSM introduced a special promotion, offering up to 500 Green Points (worth PHP 500) to new users who register and book a ride. These Green Points can be redeemed for discounts on the first seven trips. The promotion runs from June 10 to August 31, 2025, encouraging Filipinos to embrace a new generation of mobility that is greener, more convenient, and more modern.
