The main construction site for the Tu Lien Bridge, where contractors are drilling underground on both the Red River and Duong River to build the bridge’s pillars.
On the north bank construction site in Dong Anh district, contractors are maximizing their machinery and manpower, working day and night. A 2-kilometer-long project road leading to the Duong River has already taken shape.
The project road in Dong Anh district has been constructed and now extends to near the Duong River.
However, in the inner city, nearly a month after the groundbreaking ceremony, the Tu Lien Bridge project in Tay Ho district has yet to commence on-site construction.
The cause has been identified as the project road, which is about 2 kilometers long and intersects with Nghi Tam street, running through a residential area that has not yet been cleared.
The project road in Tay Ho district will be expanded to over 40 meters wide and will be built on the current Ngõ 310 Nghi Tam street, ending at the intersection with Nghi Tam street.
According to the Hanoi Transport Construction Investment Project Management Board, to build the 5.2-kilometer-long Tu Lien Bridge, the project requires land clearance of over 62.5 hectares from 701 households in Tay Ho, Long Bien, and Dong Anh districts. Dong Anh district has completed about 90% of the land clearance and is actively constructing the site, while Tay Ho and Long Bien districts are in the process of land retrieval. It is expected that by the fourth quarter of 2025, the land clearance will be completed for the comprehensive construction of the project.
