According to Báo Đồng Nai, the provincial leadership recently reviewed the progress of establishing and submitting for approval the adjusted master plans for Bien Hoa, Trang Bom, and Nhon Trach towns and Long Khanh city, as well as partial adjustments to their respective planning schemes and subdivision plans.

Per the Department of Construction, in June, the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province worked with the Ministry of Construction to appraise the planning adjustment dossiers for the aforementioned towns. During this meeting, the Ministry of Construction advised that the plans should consider the impact of potential changes in administrative units (from cities and districts to wards and communes) on the urban structure.

Additionally, the plans should incorporate a non-administrative approach to urban development. The Ministry of Construction agreed to continue submitting the planning adjustment dossiers for the three towns based on the planning tasks approved by the Prime Minister before July 1, 2025, with the above considerations taken into account.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Vo Tan Duc, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province, acknowledged that the original schedule aimed to submit the planning adjustment dossiers for the three towns to the Prime Minister for approval by December 2024, but there has been a delay in the process.

Therefore, local authorities must finalize the planning adjustment dossiers for the three towns and submit them to the Department of Construction for appraisal before presenting them to the Prime Minister for approval by June 30.

Regarding the planning adjustment dossier for the new Nhon Trach town, the functional land-use allocation should be reviewed to ensure it aligns with the appropriate development stages. Additionally, the dossier should be updated to include all projects, population forecasts, and land-use planning considerations once the connections to Ho Chi Minh City are established.

For the partial adjustment of the master plan for Long Khanh city, the departments will provide feedback by June 14. Long Khanh city is urged to promptly finalize the dossier and submit it to the Department of Construction for appraisal. Simultaneously, the departments will provide feedback on the subdivision plans for Long Khanh city, allowing the locality to complete and submit them for approval.

These areas hold strategic positions, all within close proximity to Ho Chi Minh City. Specifically, Bien Hoa city is approximately 47.2 km from the center of Ho Chi Minh City, a drive of about 1 hour and 38 minutes. Trang Bom town is 61.2 km away, with a driving time of roughly 2 hours and 15 minutes. Nhon Trach district is about 57.1 km from the center, a drive of approximately 1 hour and 41 minutes. Long Khanh city is the farthest, at 86.3 km, with a driving time of around 1 hour and 55 minutes.
