On June 12, the Ho Chi Minh City Economic Police announced that they are investigating and clarifying the discovery of a large amount of unidentified animal viscera and meat in Binh Chanh district, Ho Chi Minh City.

According to initial information, on June 7, detectives from Team 7 of the Ho Chi Minh City Economic Police conducted a surprise inspection at a food company in Tan Nhut, Binh Chanh district.

The police discovered over 61.5 tons of animal viscera and meat without invoices or documents proving their origin in the company’s cold storage.

Ho Chi Minh City police uncover irregularities in cold storage facilities

This included: more than 1.3 tons of pig breasts; 16.7 tons of pig stomachs; 3.6 tons of beef shanks; 5.9 tons of chicken feet and 7.5 tons of chicken wings, and nearly 26.5 tons of pig stomachs.

These goods were stored in foreign-labeled cartons without Vietnamese labels and lacked invoices or documents proving their origin.

Previously, on May 29, Ho Chi Minh City police inspected a company based in Binh Hung Hoa, Binh Tan district, and discovered several irregularities. Specifically, the inspection team found approximately 3.4 tons of animal viscera and meat without invoices or documents proving their origin.

Additionally, the Ho Chi Minh City police also discovered 3.4 tons of unidentified animal viscera and meat at a cold storage facility on Binh Thanh Street, Binh Hung Hoa B ward, Binh Tan district, and proceeded to handle the case in accordance with legal regulations.
