According to the Vietnam Trade Office in Japan, Vietnamese lychees are now available on Amazon Japan.

Price of Vietnamese lychees on Amazon Japan
The Trade Office stated that fresh lychees from Vietnam are sold on Amazon Japan for 2,800 Japanese yen per kilogram, equivalent to approximately 508,000 VND/kg. The price for a 5-kg combo is 9,500 yen, or about 1.72 million VND.
The fruit started shipping from June 12 and will only be available during the peak harvest months of June and July. The Trade Office emphasized that these lychees are 100% fresh and delicious, sourced directly from Vietnam and distributed by a reputable seller.
This year’s lychee yield is estimated to reach about 303,000 tons, a 30% increase from 2024. According to the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Bac Giang province leads the country in lychee production with 165,000 tons, followed by Hai Duong with 60,000 tons, Hung Yen and Lang Son with 22,000 tons each, and Dak Lak with 21,000 tons.
The lychee harvest this year will take place in two main phases: the early season from May 20 to June 10 and the main season from June 10 to July 25. As of now, Vietnam has 469 growing area codes for lychees, covering nearly 19,400 hectares, and 55 packaging facility codes for export to markets such as China, Australia, the US, Japan, and Thailand.
Mr. Huynh Tan Dat, Director of the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection, stated that lychees are one of Vietnam’s specialty fruits. The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment considers lychees a strategic product and has worked to open up major markets for this fruit, including the EU, the US, China, and Australia.
However, China remains the largest market for Vietnamese lychee exports. Given the short harvest period of just 1 to 1.5 months, it is crucial to ensure consumption scenarios during the peak season. Therefore, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is implementing solutions to promote the sustainable consumption of lychees, including VietGAP-compliant farming practices, extending the harvest period, and enhancing supply-demand connections.
