In recent times, Dong Nai province has been developing a proposal to build a complex free trade area to maximize the advantages of Long Thanh Airport, Phuoc An Port, and the local industrial parks.

ACV proposes building a free trade area within the Long Thanh Airport premises.
Initially, Dong Nai province planned to implement the free trade area project outside of Long Thanh Airport, with six proposed zones: Bau Can – Tan Hiep Industrial Park; an information technology concentration zone; an innovation zone; a logistics zone (in Long Thanh district); Xuan Que – Song Nhan Industrial Park (in Cam My district); and Phuoc An Port and its supporting area (in Nhon Trach district).
However, after discussions with Dong Nai province, ACV shared their plans to develop a free trade area within the Long Thanh Airport premises. As a result, both parties agreed that Dong Nai province would submit a comprehensive proposal to the Prime Minister for a free trade area encompassing areas inside and outside the airport.
These free trade areas will foster the development of various industries and sectors, including production zones, logistics hubs, commercial services and financial zones, as well as digital economy, information technology, and innovation zones.
