Yamaha Indonesia has recently unveiled the latest iteration of its Freego 2025 Connected scooter, offering a range of fresh and appealing color options that are sure to captivate young riders, especially those from Gen Z.
For 2025, the Freego 125 is available in two variants: the standard Freego 125 and the Freego 125 Connected. The standard Freego 125 is priced at Rp 22.315.000 (approximately $35,800), and it comes in four color options: White, Red, Brown, and Black. Meanwhile, the Freego 125 Connected has a price tag of Rp 24.100.000 (around $38,600) and is offered in two colors: Magma Black and Silver.

The 2025 Yamaha FreeGo features a striking white color scheme, with navy blue accents on the mudguard, headlight cowl, and footrest, along with light blue graphics running along the body. The red version combines bold black details, while the sand color option is paired with red stripes for a unique visual effect.
One of the most noticeable updates is the larger and more defined LED projector headlights. The daytime running lights (DRL) have been redesigned and seamlessly integrated with the turn signals. The body has been streamlined for a sportier look, making it more agile and maneuverable in urban environments.
Additionally, the “125” graphics have been repositioned horizontally for a more balanced and modern appearance. The “S” emblem on the Connected version now features a metallic blue color, matching the overall tone of the scooter.
Beyond its aesthetics, the Yamaha Freego 125 impresses with its array of superior features. The fuel filler cap, previously found on premium models like the Grande, is now conveniently located at the front. This design choice simplifies refueling without the need to open the seat.
The under-seat storage compartment offers a generous capacity of approximately 25 liters, similar to the renowned NMAX model. It can easily accommodate a full-face helmet and numerous personal items. The flat floorboard and additional storage compartment at the front enhance both practicality and comfort during rides.
The Freego 125 2025 retains its full LCD instrument cluster, now complemented by smartphone connectivity via the Y-Connect application (on the Connected version). This integration allows riders to receive notifications for calls and messages, monitor vehicle status, and access maintenance schedules—features rarely found on standard scooters. The scooter also includes a handy phone charging port and the SmartKey system on the Connected variant.

Powering the Yamaha FreeGo 125 2025 is the same 125cc Bluecore engine, delivering 9.38 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 9.5 Nm at 5,500 rpm.
One of the Freego’s standout features is its practicality in operation. With overall dimensions of 1,915 x 690 x 1,115 mm, a wheelbase of 1,275 mm, and a ground clearance of 135 mm, the scooter is lightweight at just 101 kg—significantly lighter than competitors like the SH Mode, Vario, and Air Blade. The seat height of 780 mm suits a wide range of Asian riders, and the 4.2-liter fuel tank capacity provides sufficient range for 4–5 days of city commuting without refueling.
The Freego 125 is also available in Vietnam, where the older version is currently on sale. This bodes well for the introduction of the updated model in the Vietnamese market in the near future. Presently, the Freego is offered in two variants in Vietnam: the standard and S versions, priced at over 30.3 million and 34.2 million VND, respectively.
