On the morning of June 16th, the exchange rate of the Vietnamese Dong ( VND) against the US Dollar at commercial banks witnessed a collective surge, whereas the rate for the Chinese Yuan Renminbi (CNY) remained largely unchanged.

Specifically, the central exchange rate on June 16th, as per the State Bank of Vietnam, climbed by 18 VND compared to June 13th, peaking at 24,993 VND per USD.

Considering a trading margin of ±5%, the ceiling and floor rates for the day were calculated as 26,242 VND/USD and 23,743 VND/USD, respectively.

The reference exchange rate at the State Bank’s trading session was quoted at 23,777-26,173 VND/USD (buying-selling).

As of 8:30 am on June 16th, Vietcombank listed the USD exchange rate at 25,882-26,242 VND/USD (buying-selling), marking an increase of 19 VND from the buying and selling rates on June 13th.

Conversely, BIDV’s USD exchange rate stood at 25,880-26,240 VND/USD (buying-selling), reflecting a rise of 25 VND across both buying and selling rates.

Turning to the Chinese Yuan, Vietcombank’s rates on June 16th remained unchanged from those on June 13th, steadfast at 3,574-3,688 VND/CNY (buying-selling).

Meanwhile, BIDV’s Yuan rates witnessed a slight dip of 1 VND in both buying and selling rates, settling at 3,580-3,678 VND/CNY (buying-selling).
