On June 9, 2025, the Minister of Public Security signed Decision No. 6688/QD-BCA to assign Major General Truong Son Lam, Director of Ben Tre Provincial Police, to work as Chairman of the Members’ Council of MobiFone Corporation from June 12, 2025.
Major General Truong Son Lam, born in 1972 in Hoang Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province, holds a Bachelor of Information Technology from Hanoi University of Technology, a Doctorate from the People’s Security Academy, and a high-level political theory qualification.
Prior to his appointment as Chairman of the Members’ Council of MobiFone Corporation, Major General Truong Son Lam served as Director of Ben Tre Provincial Police.
Previously, he also had extensive experience in the field of cybersecurity and combating high-tech crimes, serving as Deputy Director of the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention under the Ministry of Public Security.
In his remarks at the meeting, Chairman Truong Son Lam emphasized: “The official transfer of MobiFone to the Ministry of Public Security and its transformation into a security-defense enterprise marks not only an important milestone but also presents a great opportunity and an urgent need for change. MobiFone needs to undergo a strong transformation, from thinking to doing, to gradually shape its role and responsibilities as a security-defense enterprise in the true sense, operating effectively, professionally, and systematically, and in the right direction. I believe that with our unity, aspiration for development, and inherent strengths, the MobiFone team will continue to promote good traditions, innovate management thinking, improve organizational execution capabilities, and together build a MobiFone that is “lean, strong, and effective”.
