According to a report by the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the first half of 2025 witnessed a strong recovery and acceleration in Nghe An’s tourism industry. The province attracted approximately 6.2 million visitors, a remarkable 113% increase compared to the same period last year.

Of these, an estimated 3.82 million were staying guests, a 12% increase, while international arrivals reached around 50,800. Tourism revenue totaled nearly VND 18,843 billion, with revenue from tourism activities amounting to approximately VND 7,307 billion, a 14% increase.

The first half of 2025 saw several large-scale events that contributed to the allure of Nghe An as a destination. Among these, the Sen Village Festival, a celebration rich in cultural and spiritual values associated with President Ho Chi Minh’s homeland, continued to be a highlight in the province’s cultural and spiritual tourism offerings.

Additionally, the Cua Lo Tourism Festival 2025, with its diverse range of cultural and sporting events, attracted tens of thousands of visitors each weekend and during the festival period.

Sen Village Festival

Prominent destinations such as Cua Lo, Kim Lien Relic Site, Pu Mat National Park, Vinh City, and Muong Thanh Green Land Dien Lam Resort remain top choices for both domestic and international visitors.

Reports from seaside accommodation facilities indicate consistently high room occupancy rates, reflecting the enduring popularity of beach vacations during the summer season.

Alongside the boom in traditional tourism, there is a growing trend towards eco-tourism, community-based tourism, and cultural-ecological experiences in many localities within the province.

Tours exploring ethnic minority villages, immersing in local lifestyles, and discovering the natural beauty of the western mountainous region are increasingly favored by tourists, especially young people and international visitors.

The development of these trends is driving a restructuring of tourism products, aiming for greater diversity, sustainability, and alignment with the demands of the modern market.

Cua Lo Tourism Festival 2025

Over the past six months, Nghe An has focused on tourism linkage and promotion, yielding positive results. Notably, the conference “Nghe An – Thanh Hoa – Ninh Binh: Journey to Green Tourism” held on the sidelines of the International Travel Expo (ITE) – Hanoi 2025, attracted the participation of many large travel enterprises.

However, Nghe An’s tourism industry still faces certain bottlenecks, including delays in key infrastructure projects, challenges in attracting strategic investors, and some impacts from organizational restructuring in certain localities.

From now until the end of 2025, the provincial tourism sector aims to accommodate approximately 6.2 million staying guests, including about 135,000 international visitors. The annual tourism revenue target is set at approximately VND 11,900 billion.
