The Prime Minister has recently signed a decision to assign and appoint Mr. Tran Duc Thang, a member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Haiduong Provincial Party Committee, as the Deputy Chief of the Government Inspectorate. The decision comes into effect from July 1st, with a five-year appointment term.

Mr. Tran Duc Thang, aged 52, is a native of Vinh Phuc Province and holds a doctoral degree. He is a member of the 13th Party Central Committee. Mr. Thang previously held the positions of Deputy Director and then Director of the Department of Public Property Management under the Ministry of Finance.

In October 2018, he was elected as a member of the Central Inspection Commission, and in 2020, he became the Deputy Head of the Central Inspection Commission.

From October 2022 until now, Mr. Thang has been appointed by the Politburo to serve as the Secretary of the Haiduong Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

With this personnel decision, the Government Inspectorate now has a Deputy Chief, Mr. Tran Duc Thang, and four other Deputy Chiefs, namely Mr. Le Sy Bay, Mr. Duong Quoc Huy, Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong, and Mr. Le Tien Dat.

According to the National Assembly’s resolution on the rearrangement of administrative units at the provincial level in 2025, which was passed on June 12th, Haiduong Province will be merged with Haiphong City to form the new Haiphong City.

The new Haiphong City is one of six cities under the central government’s management after the rearrangement of administrative units at the provincial level.
