The Ministry of Industry and Trade has officially released a guidebook titled “Digital Transformation Handbook for Traditional Market Vendors.”
According to the Department of E-Commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade), in the context of the strong digital revolution, digital transformation has become an inevitable trend in all areas of life, from production and services to commerce.
However, alongside significant strides in digitalization, traditional market vendors, who are a vulnerable group in the digital ecosystem, face challenges in adapting and growing.
The handbook aims to equip traditional market vendors with digital transformation knowledge, share successful online selling tips, and modern selling skills to increase sales.
The publication is available online at: https://sotay.tieuthuongvietnam.vn.

The “Digital Transformation Handbook for Traditional Market Vendors” is designed with simple and accessible content, closely following the practical business activities of vendors, while providing specific step-by-step instructions for their digital transformation journey.
It is expected to be a powerful tool to support small businesses in traditional markets so that they are not left behind in the development of the digital economy.
Ms. Le Hoang Oanh, Director of the Department of E-Commerce and Digital Economy, shared that unlike dry academic documents, the handbook is written in a friendly tone, with concrete illustrations from the real-life stories of traditional market vendors today.
Readers will find themselves in each example and specific instruction, such as “How to livestream effectively?”, “Why is it important to pack goods carefully?”, or “How to use e-wallets for quick, safe transactions”… Everything is explained step-by-step, accompanied by vivid illustrations, like a practical lesson at your fingertips.
Moreover, the handbook not only guides readers on using TikTok Shop, Shopee, Zalo OA, chatbots, and QR code scanning but also broadens their knowledge on financial management, profit and loss tracking, and personal brand building in the digital environment.
Seemingly foreign concepts like “AI applications” and “using free sales software” are explained in a relatable and accessible manner, and they can be implemented immediately on the first day, with just a smartphone.
“These solutions will help vendors save time and costs, improve service quality, expand their customer base, and increase profits,” emphasized Ms. Oanh.
Additionally, the program raises digital awareness and breaks down the psychological barrier of “not understanding technology,” empowering individual sellers in small markets to reach a broader market and keep pace with modern business models, such as order confirmation through livestream, QR code payments, and customer care via chatbots.
Ms. Oanh further shared that the handbook will not be a one-time publication but will be continuously updated by the Ministry of Industry and Trade to keep up with technological advancements and changing consumer behaviors.
Along with providing the handbook in PDF format, the Ministry will also release podcast and short video versions on social media platforms at: https://tiktok.com/@tieuthuongvietnam.

“The Prime Minister emphasized the need for a clear delineation of responsibilities among agencies and the utilization of technology and digital transformation in governance. This includes a push for decentralization and delegation of power, coupled with appropriate resource allocation, enhancing the execution capabilities of lower levels of governance, and designing tools to strengthen inspection, supervision, and control of power.”
The New Age of Journalism: “Streamlined Power” for the Digital Evolution
The Vietnamese media landscape is facing an imperative to transform and adapt to the digital age. This entails a comprehensive restructuring, merging of operations, and innovation in their models. Streamlining does not equate to a reduction in influence; instead, it presents an opportunity for the press to reinforce its guiding role and simultaneously foster a robust and sustainable media economy.
