This registration marks the next step in Shake Shack’s expansion plans in Southeast Asia, following its presence in Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia, and most recently, Bangkok, Thailand, in 2023.

While there is no official announcement yet on the opening date of the first store in Vietnam, the franchise registration indicates that the preparation process has entered a concrete phase.

Who is Shake Shack?

Shake Shack is a New York-based fast-casual restaurant chain known for its modern style and focus on high-quality ingredients. The brand started as a small hot dog cart in Madison Square Park in 2001, founded by chef Danny Meyer. With community support and a unique design, Shake Shack officially opened its first restaurant in 2004, marking its transformation from a local kiosk to a global burger brand.

Shake Shack has since expanded to over 550 locations in the US and over 20 countries, including the UK, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. In 2024, the company generated over $1 billion in revenue, and it has been publicly traded on the NYSE since 2015.

According to QSR Magazine and Nation’s Restaurant News (NRN) data, Shake Shack is emerging as one of the fastest-growing premium burger chains globally, with a unique positioning compared to giants like McDonald’s, Five Guys, and In-N-Out.
